ATLANTA, Georgia – Orvis Atlanta is pleased to announce their “Giveback Days” event taking place throughout the month of September. The outdoor retailer will once again partner with Chattahoochee Riverkeeper (CRK) on the “Quality Hooch Campaign.” All proceeds will benefit CRK’s BacteriAlert program, which is responsible for monitoring equipment and testing of the Chattahoochee River. This campaign is a cross partnership between Orvis, SweetWater Brewing Company and CRK.
“Over the course of the last three years, the campaign has raised a total of $30,000,” stated Justin Powell, Orvis Atlanta fishing manager. “Chattahoochee Riverkeeper is the steward of clean water from the mountains in north Georgia to the Florida border, providing drinking water for more than five million people in the Chattahoochee River Basin. We’re proud to help further their mission.”
In addition to a $2,000 cash donation from Orvis, the company is challenging their customers to give back, as well. During the month of September, customers donating $10 or more will receive a $10 Orvis savings card (limit one per customer).
There will be an after-hours event in the Orvis Atlanta store, 3255 Peachtree Road NE, Buckhead Square, on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. where the final donations will be awarded to Chattahoochee Riverkeeper and partner groups will be raffling off Orvis products to help raise additional funds. The public is invited to attend and there will be free refreshments and drawings for Orvis savings cards.
